RFID Starter Kit for Arduino (incl. Uno R3)

Modern electronic experimenter kits contain modules that just plug together rather than individual components so that now we can quickly get modules talking and then decide in software how the system behaves. Thanks to the wide selection of software library functions we can have a sketch up and running in no time. These kits are worthy successors to the bags of loose components that were a feature of earlier experimenter’s kits. Electronic newbies, practicing engineers and old hands alike are sure to find that these kits interesting. The range of components is sure to get you thinking what you could use them for and they are a good way to build on your existing knowledge. You’ll have no excuse not to go on to design and build your own system! The ‘RFID Starter Kit for Arduino’ comes in a handy case and contains over 30 state-of-the-art components, devices and modules. Although it contains an RFID receiver module along with two RFID tags in the form of a credit card and key fob, the case is an Aladdin’s cave with loads of other useful components. To begin you will need an Arduino Uno along with the starter kit which amongst other things contains: A humidity sensor; A multicolor LED; A large LED-Matrix with 64 LEDs; 4 x 7-segment LED displays; A handheld IR remote controller plus IR receiver chip; A complete LC-Display module with I²C bus interface. The wide range of peripherals included in the kit ensures the number of different experiments and applications you can build. Two example applications that can easily be built using this box of goodies have been described in an article published in Elektor Magazine: Universal weather station with LC-Display and Door entry system using RFID security. More similar projects have been described in the new book Home Automation Projects with Arduino. Buy Arduino (starter) kits

With the Arduino kits you get to know the Arduino platform and the world of electronics and programming in an accessible way. With the starter kit: children, students and beginners can take their first step into the world of technology. Thanks to the simple explanation, you will become familiar with electronics, their operation and programming

There are various starter kits for sale, each with its own specialization, such as the sensor kit and robot kit. If you are getting started with Arduino for the first time, the starter kit is the way for you to get started in the world of microcontrollers.

Arduino starter kit: ideal for beginners

For beginners it can sometimes be difficult to see the forest for the trees. There are so many boards, sensors and components to choose from. That is why Arduino has developed the starter kit. A reference work with manual of 170 pages in physical form or digital PDF version.

The starter kit is ideal for beginners because in addition to the manual, you also receive the components and parts. This allows you to make your own Arduino board step-by-step with the manual.

The starter kit is aimed at the beginner without experience with the basic principles of:

  • Programming
  • Microcontrollers
  • Electronics

Arduino sensor kit: measuring is knowing!

Man is naturally equipped with sensors for sensory perception. Electronics is not.
Yet you can equip electronics with sensors so that information about, for example, the weather, radiation or smart IoT devices is picked up. With Elektor's sensor kit you will learn step-by-step how to equip your board with a sensor.

Sensors can not only control, they can also provide important information to the user. The Arduino sensor kit is intended for users who already have experience with electronics and programming. The sensor kit helps you understand, connect and program your own sensors on an Arduino board

The sensors that are most commonly connected to mainbords are:

  • LED
  • Push button
  • Potentiometer
  • Buzzer
  • Light sensor
  • Sound sensor
  • Air pressure sensor
  • Temperature sensor
  • Accelerometer
  • OLED screen

Arduino robot kit: easily create your own robot

Putting together your own robot sounds like an expensive joke. Fortunately, this is not the case with the Arduino robot kit. All components and parts collected for you in one kit with step-by-step explanations to easily make your own robot.

With the BYOR (Build Your Own Robot) starter kit you have a construction kit with blueprints to make your own Arduino robot. Thanks to the explanation and step-by-step plan, you will go through all the phases involved in building a robot.

Buy your own Arduino kit from Elektor
