The AxiDraw's pen holder normally holds the pen parallel to the front face of the vertical pen slide, either vertically or at 45° from vertical.
This heavy-gauge aluminum adapter sits between the front face of the vertical slide and the pen clip, and serves to rotate the pen tip an additional 45°, not from vertical but out from parallel to the front face of the vertical slide. This gives the AxiDraw the ability to hold a pen in a 'right handed' grip, as opposed to the normal 'center-handed' (for lack of a better description) position.
The right-handed grip makes it possible to hold the pen at a consistent angle suitable for use with regular pens, but also stub, italic, parallel, and chisel-point pens.
Compatibility
This adapter is compatible only with AxiDraw V3 family pen plotters that mount the pen on a 2-hole vertical slide. This includes all AxiDraw V3/A3 and AxiDraw V3 XLX units, and all AxiDraw V3 units manufactured after February 2017.
This rigid end effector plate is designed to be in place of the standard AxiDraw pen-lift Z stage, and provides an alternative mounting scheme for mounting various things to the end of the AxiDraw's arm, for applications where greater rigidity is important but the lifting ability of the standard Z stage is not required.
The rigid end effector is custom machined from aluminum, and provides six M3 tapped holes and two M4 tapped holes for mounting what ever it is that you would like to mount to the end of the AxiDraw, to use it as a 2D robot arm. The hole pattern is compatible with the AxiDraw pen clip, so you can, if you like, mount the AxiDraw's pen clip to this end effector.
Installation is straightforward, but requires a Pozidrive PZ2 screwdriver, not included*. Remove the AxiDraw's pen clip, and then remove the pen-lift Z stage by removing two screws with the PZ2 screwdriver. Install the rigid end effector plate in its place, using the two included mounting screws and the PZ2 screwdriver. You may wish to also tie back or fully remove the AxiDraw's cable guides, which normally extend to power the pen-lift stage.

This pair of extended 'outrigger' feet for AxiDraw V3 and AxiDraw V3 XLX consists of a pair of machined aluminum struts with large 1/2' diameter (12 mm) rubber foot pads set securely in recesses. It greatly increases the effective base area of the AxiDraw, making it much more stable when plotting, and capable of carrying heavier tools without worry of tipping over. In addition to providing a larger footprint, the outrigger feet also provide four mounting holes that make it easier to secure your AxiDraw to a surface, should you choose to do so. Each foot strut has two top-side accessible #8/M4 clearance holes. Installation is straightforward: Remove the two screws that hold the standard foot plates to the bottom of the AxiDraw, and attach these struts in their place with the included screws. Compatible with: AxiDraw V3 AxiDraw V3 XLX
Extra easel boards for AxiDraw V3/A3 can be used as replacements, or for staging additional workpieces for quickly swapping to the next plot. This set consists of one 11.75 x 17 inch (29.85 x 43.18 cm) hardboard platen with rubber feet attached, plus eight micro binder clips.
The tripod adapter is custom machined from a solid block of aluminum, and provides two standard tripod mounting points with 3/8-16 and light-duty 1/4-20 thread respectively. This allows you to mount the AxiDraw to a tripod, should you have reason to do so.
We would highly recommend using a sturdy tripod with a 3/8-16 connection point and appropriate counterweight (sand bag, lifting weights, etc) to balance the weight of the AxiDraw while in use.
Installation is straightforward, and does not require any tools other than those included with AxiDraw: Remove the existing foot pads from the AxiDraw (either standard or outrigger feet, depending on model) and attach this plate to the captured nuts in the bottom surface of the AxiDraw. For AxiDraw SE/A3 (April 2019 and newer), the tripod adapter attaches directly to tapped holes in the base of the machine.
This heavy-duty tripod adapter is compatible with AxiDraw V3, AxiDraw V3/A3 and AxiDraw V3 XLX. It is also compatible with AxiDraw SE/A3 manufactured in April 2019 and newer.

The AxiDraw's pen holder normally holds a pen (or other instrument) either vertically or at 45° from vertical. The Pen clip rotation stage is a lightweight adapter allows you to mount the instrument at arbitrary angles, and fine-tune that angle over a range of 90 degrees with a precision of 1 degree. This adapter is not normally needed in general writing and drawing usage. However certain precision applications of the AxiDraw – particularly those using the AxiDraw as a general purpose XY motion control stage – may find this to be helpful. Some users have also found it useful for fine-tuning the angle that a pen is mounted at when using italic or chisel-tip pens in combination with the Italic pen adapter. You can attach the rotation stage to the front face of the AxiDraw in two orientations, vertical or at 45° from vertical. These orientations, along with the 90°adjustment range, allow you to either adjust between vertical and horizontal, or between vertical and ±45° from vertical. Two small thumbscrews and an engraved bezel allow you to make adjustments and set the angle.Specifications

The AxiDraw SE/A3 has the same extended plotting area as the AxiDraw V3/A3. In place of the central extrusion that makes up the body of that machine, the AxiDraw SE/A3 has a central beam that is CNC machined from a solid billet of 6061-T6 aluminum, and then anodized to a sleek black finish. This heavy, rigid structure – it's a solid block of metal! – provides dramatically better straightness and stiffness, even compared to the already-stiff AxiDraw V3/A3. This design adds mass exactly where you want it: to the non-moving base that forms the X-axis of the machine. In order to keep the weight light where it matters, the moving Y-axis of the AxiDraw SE/A3 uses the same stiff and light custom aluminum extrusion that we use on the AxiDraw V3/A3.Beyond this, the central beam and X-axis of the AxiDraw SE/A3 feature an all-new geometry for the rolling wheels, which provides more stable and uniform motion along the axis.Getting StartedThe AxiDraw comes fully assembled, tested, and ready to use, right out of the box. A universal-input plug-in power supply is included with the AxiDraw, as is a USB cable, and an optional paper-holding easel. Assuming that you've installed the software first, you can be up and plotting within minutes of opening the box. Our comprehensive PDF user guide walks you through every step of the process. To operate AxiDraw, you will need a reasonably modern computer with an available USB port (Mac, Windows or Linux), plus internet access to download necessary software. Pens and paper are not included. (You can use your own; AxiDraw does not require proprietary pens or paper.)AxiDraw is normally controlled through a set of extensions to Inkscape, the excellent, popular and free vector graphics program. Basic operation is much like that of a printer driver: you import or make a drawing in Inkscape, and use the extensions to plot your text or artwork. It's all handled through a straightforward graphical user interface, and works cleanly on Mac, Windows and Linux.SpecificationsPerformance

As compared to the (US Letter/A4 sized) AxiDraw V3, the AxiDraw V3/A3 has extended travel range, designed for use with paper sizes up to and including 11 × 17 inch ('tabloid' or 'ledger') and A3. It can work with any paper up to and including that size, including envelopes, regular US letter (8 1/2 × 11 inch) or A4 (297 × 210 mm) sized paper, note cards, business cards, or a whole array of smaller items. The AxiDraw comes with a mounting easel (board with clips) that can be used for holding paper, cards, and envelopes of various sizes. The AxiDraw V3/A3 also comes standard with AxiDraw Outrigger Feet pre-installed, for greater stance and stability while plotting. The unique design of the AxiDraw features a drawing head that extends beyond the body of the machine, making it possible to also draw on flat objects bigger than the machine itself. For example, you can set it right on top of a box to write an address or add decorations. You can even set it on top of a poster board, chalkboard, or whiteboard to draw graphics in place. The pen holder fits a wide variety of pens, including Sharpie fine and ultra-fine point markers, most rollerball and fountain pens, small-bodied whiteboard markers, and so forth. It can even hold a fountain pen at a proper angle of 45° to the paper. You can also use implements that aren't pens, such as pencils, chalk, charcoal, brushes, and many others. However, you'll get the best results with instruments such as fountain pens and rollerball pens, which do not require the user to apply pressure.
