Elektor Digital 50 PIC Microcontroller Projects (E-book)
This book contains 50 fun and exciting projects for PIC microcontrollers such as a laser alarm, USB teasing mouse, eggtimer, youth repellent, soundswitch, capacitive liquid level gauge, 'finger in the water' sensor, guarding a room using a camera, mains light dimmer (110-240 volts), talking microcontroller and much more. Several different techniques are discussed such as relay, alternating current control including mains, I²C, SPI, RS232, USB, pulse width modulation, rotary encoder, interrupts, infrared, analog-digital conversion (and the other way around), 7-segment display and even CAN bus. You can use this book to build the projects for your own use. The clear explanations, schematics and even pictures of each project make this a fun activity. For each project the theory is discussed and why the project has been executed in that particular way. That means you can also use this book as a studybook, or as basis for larger and more complicated projects. All projects use a breadboard so modification and expansion is easy. Three PIC microcontrollers are used, the 16f877A, 18f4455 and 18f4685. It is also discussed how you can migrate your project from one microcontroller to another – 15 types are supported - including two example projects. All software that is used in this book can be downloaded for free. That also applies to the open source programming language JAL. This powerful and yet easy to learn language is used by hobbyists as well as professionals. This book can also be used as a reference guide. It explains all JAL commands, as well as the expansion libraries. Using the index you can easily find example projects that illustrate the use of these commands. Even when you have built all projects in this book you will still want to keep it within arm's reach.

Peak Peak Atlas ESR70 gold (ESR and Capacitance Meter)
The Peak Atlas ESR70 gold is an enhanced version of the previous Peak Atlas ESR70 Plus. It does everything that the ESR70 Plus did but better. It now measures capacitance up to 10x faster, and over a wider range, thanks to new test algorithms. The capacitance measurement is also much less influenced by parallel resistances or leakage current thanks to our new Triple-Slope measurement system. Using the supplied gold plated probes (removable), the Atlas ESR70 gold can measure ESR down to a resolution of 0.01 ohms, up to 40 ohms. It can even measure ESR for capacitors that are in-circuit. Probes are removable, allowing 2 mm compatible probes to be fitted. Audible alerts are produced for various ESR levels allowing you to perform many tests in succession without having to look at the display. The ESR70 automatically takes capacitive reactance into account, so even low value capacitors (down to 0.3 uF) can have the ESR measured accurately. Features Uses a single AAA Alkaline cell (included) Alphanumeric LCD with backlight Automatic analysis-start when you apply the probes Automatic capacitor discharge using controlled discharge function ESR (and low DC resistance) measurement (even in-circuit) Capacitive reactance automatically taken into account to ensure accurate ESR Capacitance measurement (if testing out-of-circuit) Audible alerts for various ESR levels Extended ESR measurement range up to 40 Ohms Optional probe alternatives easily fitted New gold Features Improved LCD with better backlight 10x faster capacitance measurement for large capacitors Enhanced user options system New triple-slope measurement system to vastly reduce the influence of parallel resistance and/or leakage current on capacitance measurements Much wider capacitance measurement range now 0.3 uF to 90,000 uF (was 1uF to 22,000uF) Specifications Analyzer type ESR and Capacitance Component types Capacitors (>0.3 uF) ESR range 0.00 Ohms to 40.0 Ohms ESR resolution From 0.01 Ohms In-circuit use ESR only Capacitance range 0.3 uF to 90000 uF Battery type 1.5 V Alkaline AAA Cell (supplied). Siglent Siglent SDG2042X 2-ch Arbitrary Waveform Generator (40 MHz)
Siglent's SDG2000X is a series of dual-channel function/arbitrary waveform generators with specifications of up to 120 MHz maximum bandwidth, 1.2 GSa/s sampling rate and 16-bit vertical resolution. The proprietary TrueArb & EasyPulse techniques help to solve the weaknesses inherent in traditional DDS generators when generating arbitrary, square and pulse waveforms. With advantages above, SDG2000X can provide users with a variety of high fidelity and low jitter signals, which can meet the growing requirements of complex and extensive applications. Features Dual-channel, 40 MHz bandwidth, 20Vpp maximum output amplitude, high fidelity output with 80dB dynamic range. High-performance sampling system with 1.2GSa/s sampling rate and 16-bit vertical resolution. No detail in your waveforms will be lost. Innovative TrueArb technology, based on a point-by-point architecture, supports any 8pts~8Mpts Arb waveform with a sampling rate in range of 1μSa/s~75MSa/s. Innovative EasyPulse technology, capable of generating lower jitter Square or Pulse waveforms, brings a wide range and extremely high precision in pulse width and rise/fall times adjustment. Plenty of analog and digital modulation types: AM, DSB-AM, FM, PM, FSK, ASK and PWM. Sweep and Burst functions. High precision Frequency Counter. Standard interfaces: USB Host, USB DeviceUSBTMC, LAN (VXI-11) Optional interface: GPIB. 4.3” touch screen display for easier operation. Specifications Maximum output frequency 40 MHz Output channels 2 Sampling rate 1.2 GSa/s (4X Interpolation) Wave length CH1: 16 Kpts, CH2: 512 Kpts Frequency resolution 1 μHz Vertical resolution 16 bit Standard interfaces Standard interfaces: USB Host, USB Device (USBTMC), LAN (VXI-11) High-performance Sampling System Benefiting from a 1.2GSa/s and 16-bit sampling system, SDG2000X achieves extremely high accuracy performance in both time domain and amplitude, which results in more accurately reconstructed waveforms and lower distortion. Innovative EasyPulse Technology When a Square/Pulse waveform is generated by DDS, there will be a one-clock-jitter if the sampling rate is not an integer-related multiple of the output frequency. SDG2000X EasyPulse technology successfully overcomes this weakness in DDS designs and helps to produce low jitter Square/Pulse waveforms. Innovative TrueArb Technology For arbitrary waveforms, TrueArb not only has all the advantages of traditional DDS, but also eliminates the probability that DDS may cause serious jitter and distortion. Easy controll with 4.3” Touch Screen Display and Arbitrary Waveform Software EasyWave The 4.3” touch screen display, makes operation much more convenient. And EasyWave is a powerful arbitrary waveform editing software that supports several ways to generate arbitrary waveform such as manual drawing, line-drawing, equation-drawing, coordinate-drawing, etc. It is quite convenient for users to edit their own arbitrary waveforms through EasyWave.
