Elektor Digital Experiments with Digital Electronics (E-book)
The field of digital electronics is central to modern technology. This e-book presents fundamental circuits using gates, flip-flops and counters from the CMOS 4000 Series. Each of the 50 experiments has a circuit diagram as well as a detailed illustration of the circuit’s construction on solderless breadboard. Learning these fundamentals is best done using practical experiments. Building these digital circuits will improve your knowledge and will be fun to boot. Many of the circuits presented here have practical real-life applications. With a good overview of the field, you’ll be well equipped to find simple and cost-effective solutions for any application. The e-book is targeted essentially at students, trainees and anyone with an interest in and requiring an introduction to digital control electronics. Moreover, the knowledge gleaned here is the foundation for further projects in the field of microcontrollers and programming.

Elektor Digital Elektor Special: Arduino Shields (PDF) EN
Make your project dreams come true: an odometer for the hamster wheel, a fully automatic control of your ant farm with web interface, or the Sandwich-O-Mat – a machine that toasts and grills sandwiches of your choice. With the Arduino and the DIY or Maker movement, not only did entry into microcontroller programming become child's play, but a second development also took place: Resourceful developers brought small boards – so-called shields or modules – to the market, which greatly simplified the use of additional hardware. The small modules contain all the important electronic parts to be connected to the microcontroller with a few plug-in cables, eliminating the need for a fiddly and time-consuming assembly on the plug-in board. In addition, it is also possible to handle tiny components that do not have any connecting legs (so-called SMDs). Elektor Digital Artificial Intelligence (E-book)
23 projects to bring your microcontroller to life! This book contains 23 special and exciting artificial intelligence machine-learning projects, for microcontroller and PC. Learn how to set up a neural network in a microcontroller, and how to make the network self-learning. Discover how you can breed robots, and how changing a fitness function results in a totally different behavior. Find out how a PC program exposes your weak spots in a game, and ruthlessly exploits them. Build a free-will robot, or have one clean your floor! Example projects from the book: A microcontroller that learns what your favourite color is. A robot wandering about the house looking for someone to play with. A bred robot program that is incapable of crossing a black line. A microcontroller that learns how to play a game until You just can't win anymore. A PC that programs a microcontroller all by itself. Complete with free software that you can download containing: All source code for the microcontroller. All sources of compiled PC programs (MS Windows). JAL programming language, with special editor and extension libraries. Robot breed program. Plus a support webpage with links, errata and FAQ. Several artificial intelligence techniques are discussed and used in projects such as expert system, neural network, subsumption, emerging behavior, genetic algorithm, cellular automata and roulette brains. Every project has clear instructions and pictures so you can start immediately. Suggestions and literature links allow you to go way beyond the scope of the book. Even after you have built all the projects contained within, this book will remain a valuable reference guide to keep next to your PC. A unique book for anyone with an interest in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
