This page supplies the software produced in support of the PIC Microcontroller Programming book by Bert van Dam. All software is made available free of charge by the authors. You don't have to pay anything. The software is intended for Windows XP and other Microsoft operating systems. To install the software, please follow the instructions in the book carefully.
Download the free software in the 'Attachments/Dowloads' section on the book page. You’ll need it to be able to use the book.
For a quick start, a kit of parts is available from Voti. The kit contains all the components you need for the experiments described in the book, including a breadboard.
Many users are members of the Yahoo JAL Group. This is the ideal place to ask questions about programming in JAL. There you will find a friendly and open atmosphere, also suitable for beginners. Please note that although the group is international, the prescribed language is English.
