The electronics student of today was probably born somewhere in the mid-nineties of the last century. That may sound like a long time ago, but he/she is still much younger than the vacuum tube. Most of those students have probably never seen a tube let alone worked with one. To them tubes are antique and may be forgotten. To correct this Elektor decided a few years ago to dedicate a series of articles to old and often forgotten electronic equipment and, under the supervision of Elektor Editor Jan Buiting, this series became a huge success.
We have good news for true Retronics lovers (and all other electronics enthusiasts)! In a 30-minute webinar on Thursday January 24, 2013 Jan Buiting reviews a number of items presented in the Retronics series of articles published in Elektor magazine over the past five years. Most of Jan’s articles have a touch of techno-nostalgia taking the Elektor readership back to the days when electronics was young. In the webinar Jan also discusses methods of bringing old tube equipment to life without causing explosions.
