Upgraded T-962 Infrared Reflow Oven (Elektor Version)

Description

This upgraded version (available exclusively from Elektor) contains the following improvements:

  • Enhanced protective earthing (PE) for furnace chassis
  • Extra thermal insulation layer around furnace to reduce odors

The infrared IC heater T-962 is a microprocessor-controlled reflow oven that you can use for effectively soldering various SMD and BGA components. The whole soldering process can be completed automatically and it is very easy to use. This machine uses a powerful infrared emission and circulation of the hot air flow, so the temperature is being kept very accurate and evenly distributed.

A windowed drawer is designed to hold the work-piece, and allows safe soldering techniques and the manipulation of SMDBGA and other small electronic parts mounted on a PCB assembly. The T-962 may be used to automatically rework solder to correct bad solder joints, remove/replace bad components and complete small engineering models or prototypes.

Ergonomic design, practical and easily operated

Good build quality but at the same time light weight and a small footprint allows the T-962 to be easily bench positioned transported or stored.

Large number of available funtions

The T-962 can solder most small parts of PCB boards, for example CHIP, SOP, PLCC, QFP, BGA etc. It is the ideal rework solution from single runs to on-demand small batch production.

    Geweldig apparaat!

    Voor het eerst gebruik gemaakt van deze infrarood heater. De curve van de soldeerpasta erin geprogrammeerd en het resultaat is perfect!

    Well am new to this and have been reading a few articles on reflow soldering but haven’t used it yet any suggestions on how to operate it would be great. But are happy with the T-962 and the delivery was very quick

    Fonctionne très bien avec le firmware d`origine... je n`ai testé qu`avec de la sn63/pb37.
    Je vais quand même faire les modifications

    Des précisions ?

    Bonjour,
    Cette référence de four à refusion est connue depuis longtemps, ainsi que ses nombreux `petits inconvénients`. Il est néanmoins très largement capable de faire le travail pour un hobbyiste, et la caution d`Elektor sur les points les plus critiques (mise à la terre et protection thermique) est vraiment bienvenue. Mais quid des points restants, est-ce qu`ils ont aussi été intégrés ou est-ce que ce n`est pas considéré comme majeur et fera l`objet d`article de customisation par la suite ?
    - le problème de la soudure froide, ignorée par le firmware `par défaut` qui fait que la mesure de température du four n`est pas correcte, est corrigé aussi ?
    - les autres défauts du firmware et l`existence d`un firmware optimisé par la communauté qui corrige de nombreuses anomalies (notamment vérifie le point précédent) serait-il aussi pré-flashé ?
    - votre avis sur la grille du tiroir accusée d`empêcher une répartition correcte de la chaleur notamment pour des circuits double face ?
    Merci à vous en tout cas de vous pencher sur le problème épineux de l`usage du four à pizza familial pour la refusion, qui n`est ni bon pour la paix des ménages, ni pour l`hygiène alimentaire :-)
