As most Elektor readers will be aware, the magazine publishes a Hexadoku puzzle every month. Hexadoku is a Sodoku specially adapted to challenge the electronic mind as it employs the character set 0-F instead of 0-9 as in your run of the mill Sudoku.
In the February 2010 issue, now on publication in Europe and the USA our Hexadoku audience was suddenly confronted with the character ‘G’ which is definitely not a hexadecimal number or a value! When generating the puzzle a ‘trifling’ mistake occurred with the program settings, causing what’s generally known as the hexadecimal range to be erroneously extended with a G.
The good news is that the February 2010 puzzle can be solved if you take the extra G into account. We’re really curious to see the number of correct solutions this month!
