Vincotech, a provider of power, GPS and hybrid modules for industrial, solar and automotive applications, has released two new product families for solar inverter and UPS applications. Designed for maximum efficiency and using state of the art chip technologies, the flowBOOST 0 Dual and flowNPC 0 families feature three-level topologies and can handle power levels up to 15 kW.
The newly released families feature either dual boost or neutral-point inverter topologies for use in three-level solar and UPS systems. The advantages of the three-level approach include lower cost and higher efficiency thanks to the use of 600-V components. With advanced chip technologies such as SiC diodes and CoolMOS™, these modules achieve a maximum "European Efficiency" (EE) rating of 99% per module.
The highest efficiency is achieved by the members of the flowNPC 0 family, which feature parallel switching using CoolMOS™ and IGBT devices. The combination of the optimal conduction of the IGBT with the low switching losses of the CoolMOS™ yields the lowest overall losses and thus extremely high efficiency. flowNPC 0 modules also feature regenerative power capability, which is an increasingly common emerging requirement in solar inverter applications.
The modules are housed in Vincotech’s proven flow0 package. At 33 x 66 x 12 mm and featuring the unique clip-in mechanism, the flow 0 is claimed to be one of the most compact and easy-to-handle packages in the power module market.
