Vishay has released high-intensity white power SMD LEDs in the CLCC-6 and CLCC-6 flat ceramic packages that feature InGaN/TAG on sapphire technology for high optical power from 2240 to 5600 mcd.
Designed to reduce costs in high-volume applications, the new VLMW63xx series features thermal resistance as low as 50 K/W, while the VLMW64xx series boasts 40 K/W and an ultra-low profile of 0.9 mm.
With a compact 3.3 by 3.4-mm footprint, the ceramic LED packages allow extra current drive for a maximum light output while maintaining a high service life of up to 50,000 hours, making them ideal for use in constrained spaces where thermal management is a key issue. The LEDs have a typical luminous flux of 11,000 mlm and optical efficiency up to 30 lm/W. The ratio of luminous intensity per package unit IVmax/IVmin is less than 1.6, the maximum forward voltage is 4.3 V, and the 50% intensity angle is 60°.
The VLMW63xx and VLMW64xx LEDs are compatible with IR-reflow solder processes in accordance with CECC 00802 and J-STD-020C. Preconditioned according to JEDEC Level 4 standards, the CLCC-6 and CLCC-6 flat packages are lead-free and RoHS-compliant. The devices are automotive qualified to AEC-Q101 and have an ESD withstand voltage up to 2 kV in accordance with JESD22-A114-B.
Samples and production quantities of the new VLMW63xx and VLMW64xx high-intensity white power SMD LEDs are available now, with lead times of eight weeks for larger orders.
