The rapid expansion of digital RF applications has driven the measurement needs of many applications, including mobile communications and spectrum management, beyond the capabilities of swept-spectrum and vector signal analysis. Digital RF signals have complex modulation schemes and change quickly – hopping frequencies, spiking briefly and then disappearing. These transmission techniques help RF devices avoid interference, maximise peak power, and in many cases evade detection.
Using DPX real-time RF signal processing technology to achieve a spectrum processing rate hundreds of times faster than competing products, the RSA3300B series and RSA3408B provide 100% intercept probability for transients as short as 31 microseconds (RSA3408B) or 41 microseconds (RSA3300B series). Combined with the ability to trigger on transient signals in the time and frequency domains, they provide unique troubleshooting and debugging capabilities for digital RF designs.
The RSA3300B series is available with frequency coverage of DC to 3 GHz or DC to 8 GHz. With a 15-MHz capture bandwidth and 70-dB spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR), it is ideal for designing and debugging 3G mobile systems, near-field systems (such as RFID and Bluetooth), and narrow- to medium-bandwidth communication systems.
The RSA3408B, with DC–8 GHz frequency coverage, 36-MHz capture bandwidth and 73-dB SFDR, is tailored for applications with greater bandwidth and dynamic range, including 3G mobile components and system debugging, WLAN and WiMax system design, demanding spectrum management applications, and general-purpose digital RF debugging.
