Kleer audio models provide robust performance at low power

Kleer 's Audio LP line of RF wireless modules features high quality audio, low power consumption, and robust ISM band coexistence. Kleer's patented subsampling radio architecture is designed to communicate lossless CD-quality digital stereo audio over a robust 2.4-GHz radio link while achieving ten times the battery life of a comparable Bluetooth solution.

Kleer's Audio LP technology is claimed to be ideal for consumer electronics OEMs that want to develop interoperable wireless audio products for the portable, home and automotive audio markets.

The first product in the Audio LP line is the KLR3012 module, which combines Kleer's mixed-signal RFIC with RF passive components to reduce the amount of RF design necessary to generate a product.

Kleer's embedded software offers complete and configurable functionality enabling the implementation of products with little or no software development. Kleer's proprietary products are a direct challenge to Bluetooth. The company claims that its Audio LP modules offer the following advantages over Bluetooth:

  • Lossless transmission of 16-bit, 44.1-kHz sampled stereo audio to deliver full CD-quality audio. Lossless transmission also enables the beaming of music or other data files from one player to another.
  • Ten times the battery life of a comparable Bluetooth solution. This enables OEMs to integrate wireless technology into portable audio players without suffering a large penalty in battery life. OEMs can introduce new small form factor products such as wireless earphones knowing that small batteries will still give them acceptable battery life.
  • Best-in-class ISM band co-existence by dynamically selecting 1 of 16 narrowband channels, each of which can fit in the gaps between wireless LAN channels, and ensuring that only unoccupied channels are selected.
  • Kleer's Listen In technology enables users to share the listening experience by having multiple wireless earphones, headphones or speakers listening simultaneously to the same audio source.
