The first kits of ElektorWheelie, our self-balancing two-wheel electrical vehicle are now shipping and Elektor e-Weekly readers are advised of the final few days left to take advantage of an attractive ₤85 discount on orders received before 1 September 2009.
ElektorWheelie is described in the July/August and September 2009 issues of Elektor’s European and USA editions. The response is to these publications is now increasing fast thanks to a blog page, several YouTube movies and a dedicated topic on the Elektor forum where ElektorWheelie constructors and other enthusiasts exchange information.
ElektorWheelie is a lively Open Development project where everyone’s invited to contribute, change and improve as he or she thinks fit, provided the information is shared with others. The vehicle is supplied as kit of parts, with an extensive assembly manual included. Several extensions like a speedometer, RFID owner identification, an LCD dashboard and a battery gauge are being developed within this channel of enthusiastic users. Meanwhile, P&P charges for the ElektorWheeelie kit have been lowered from ₤85 to ₤49!
