It is also claimed to be “the world’s first meeting cost calendar & clock” but falsely so because Elektor published its Meeting Cost Timer way back in January 2009. Although TIM! definitely has the sleeker design, the Elektor project has the undeniable advantage that the display can be read by all cube dwellers, managers, consultants, lab workers and lowly editors participating in painfully long and unproductive business meetings.
On Bring TIM! you simply enter the number of people in the room, ballpark an average hourly wage, and press the illuminated start button. Everyone will be amazed as the dollars pile up with every second that ticks by. The gizmo doubles as an office clock.
By comparison the Elektor project should appeal to a different audience, i.e. everyone curious to know how things really work and getting satisfaction from having built something yourself without listening too much to ‘meeting drivel’.
