Avnet, ADI and Micron team on video surveillance development kit

Avnet Electronics, in conjunction with Analog Devices and Micron Technology, Inc., has released an updated development kit that simplifies the design of video surveillance applications. The second-generation Digital Video Surveillance Kit is available exclusively from Avnet and features Ethernet networking capabilities and streaming video.

The kit provides a simplified prototype development platform for intelligent video surveillance applications that combines the video handling capabilities of the Analog Devices Blackfin^® processor with state-of-the-art CMOS image sensors from Micron Technology. It also includes 10/100 Base-T Ethernet capabilility for IP camera applications.

The kit is available in various versions; the full version includes either a Wide-VGA or 2-megapixel image sensor headboard, a 500-MHz dual core Blackfin processor board with USB and Ethernet interfaces, and sensor development tools, including utilities for video capture and analysis.
