We are slowly becoming more aware of our impact on the environmental and carbon footprint but something happened in the lab the other week that made us smile: for an upcoming project one of our team, Clemens Valens ordered four IC samples from the chip manufacturer Analog Devices.

 

Useful spares or toxic waste?
Unable to find an answer in the forums a reader wrote to us recently with a question that’s been bothering him: “I am sure I am not alone in having a large box of old components lying around under my bench. Is it possible to mix newer RoHS compliant components with older non-RoHS components? Any tips from the Elektor lab?
