This article will help you design energy-efficient circuits based around AVR microcontrollers. Even cutting a single microamp from the current consumption of a circuit can be important in designs powered from batteries, Goldcaps, solar cells or 20 mA current-loop interfaces, and in designs that use so-called ‘energy harvesting’.
