Hearing Threshold Tester for PC

How good are your ears?

Published in issue 395, October 2009

Hearing Threshold Tester for PC
The hardware and software presented here is meant to be used to easily test your hearing. It is possible to determine your hearing threshold and you can perform an A-B-X test to see what differences there are in sound quality between, for example, an MP3 file and a WAV file. With future enhancements of the software (which you could easily write yourself) you can carry out a number of other tests and gain a better understanding how your ears work and what you can and cannot hear.
