LED Ringflash

Proper lighting for macro-photography!

Published in issue 374, February 2008

LED Ringflash
The availability of increasingly high-performance digital cameras and falling prices has encouraged a good many people to take an interest in photography, and macro-photography too. If lighting conditions are not ideal, it will be necessary to resort to the use of flash, with the attendant risk of shadows. The solution is a ringflash – and while we’re about it, why not one using LEDs?
