The domestic use of WLANs has grown rapidly as DSL routers with built-in wireless Ethernet have become available, and now it is easy to use a notebook PC to surf the Internet wirelessly from the comfort of one’s sofa. However, things get trickier if a reinforced concrete wall stands in the way, or if a neighbour happens to be using the same frequency. In this article we discuss various antennas for the 2.4 GHz band including the famous Cantenna.
