Occasionally it seems there’s no alternative to prying a component off a printed circuit board. When a repair job is on hand involving the replacement of a faulty part, most of you will care very little how it’s done, as long as the precious PCB remains intact. However, if we want to remove a part from a prototype or a junked board, other laws suddenly rule: in that case, it is essential that the part survives intact while it will not matter if the board is severely damaged or scrapped later.
