Carriage Detection for Model Railways

Model railway builders know all about this: it is a troublesome job to get a block system to function properly. We present here a simple, reliable and cheap solution on how to fit resistors between insulated wheels, as is used with the two-rail systems that operate a block detection system based on current consumption. A block, in this case, is an isolated section of rail. It is considered occupied if a load is detected. The locomotive usually has at least some current consumption, even if it is just for the lights.
