DELPHI for Electronic Engineers

Part 1 - The first steps

Published in issue 340, January 2005

DELPHI for Electronic Engineers
This article is the first part in a series about programming in
Delphi, which concentrates on the practical side of
programming and how it can interact with hardware. As an
example, how would you write a Delphi program under
Windows and then transfer it to an IC to make an
autonomous Delphi controller?
Delphi is a programming environment based on the ‘Pascal’
programming language. You could use it to design an
aeroplane or create scientific programs, and also for measurement
and control equipment and even use it to program
ICs, which in turn control other pieces of hardware.
