This month we look at an everyday item: the humble coin, be it a 2-pound, or a 1- or 2-euro piece. Money, including coins, seems to have a strong attracting effect on people. But how do the above coins behave within a magnetic field? Will they be attracted or repelled? To find out, we suspend a coin freely in front of an electromagnet.
