Fan Controller with Remote Temperature Sensor

The Maxim MAX6670 (http://pdfserv.maxim-ic.com/arpdf/MAX6668-MAX6670.pdf) is an integrated circuit for temperature-dependent fan control. The p-n junction of a transistor is used as a temperature sensor, which can be mounted remotely. The various versions of the IC are programmed by the manufacturer with a range of trip temperatures from +40 °C to +75 °C. The devices are available in 5 °C steps.
