Relative Fieldstrength Meter for 2-m Band
Published in issue 294, December 2000
A fieldstrength meter (FSM) is extremely useful for radiation gain/loss and radiation pattern measurements, and, in general, to discover why some antennas perform better than others. This FSM is designed for work on 2-metre band (144-146 MHz) antennas, in particular, Yagi types which require quite a bit of tweaking for optimum performance. A tuned RF filter, L1-C1, is used at the input to make the FSM selective for the desired band.
