Hi

I am having problems with a speed camera detector from november 08's issue. I purchased the ready programmed pic from this site, built the circuit and after a few minor problems got the circuit working. It programmed 5000 locations fine but when I switch to the gps input and restart, the message changes to "Hello Synchronising" but goes no further. The bi-colour led does not light, and it simply does nothing more. I have checked if the gps input is getting through to the pic, and it does appear to be, as does the switch input to change modes from pc to gps. If anyone has any suggestions on things to try, please let me know

Thanks in advance for any pointers you may be able to offer.

Hi,

Hopefully it does work now...

There are a lot of posts on this topic at the Dutch site of Elektor.
I have rewritten the firmware to make it more robust and user friendly. Several settings can be set by firmware via a menu.
E.g. Daylight Saving, UTC, baudrate, language, etc.

A friend of mine has rewritten the PC software ( transfer.exe was not that good... read : not user friendly ).

Please visit the Dutch Elektor site for more info and the files to download.

Nieuwe Code Flitspaalmelder
Version 1.12 is currently released. Version 1.13, which will be released tonight, has a small fix in the number of PIO's to store.

New version released..
Version 1.22

This version has a lot of improvements and modifications...

One of the major improvements is the circle detection with angle view in heading direction.

Please use the new PC-Software as well for this firmware...
The POI coordinates are stored in a bit different way...

Versie 1.26b has been released.
There was still a bug in the firmware which I could find until last week... This bug caused the system to crash in a certain situation.

This version has some minor tweaks as well to speed up and reduced code size ( 82% flash and 57% ram used). Still some room for additional stuff

There are some other nice features added to the firmware.
The speed cameras are now only detected if they are in the direction of driving.

So, version 1.26b will probably the last version now it is stable.
If you have some comment, please sent me message.

Thanks.

SMD resistors and capacitors in Elektor projects normally are of size 0805.
