Hi

Has anybody built the IEC 1107 Electricity Meter Interface which was featured way back in march 2002?

I've got the hardware working OK, but the PC software is giving me problems.
It gets to the part " ...Waiting for identification message..." and just sits there doing nothing.

I'm going to assume that the software is meant to send out some sort of command at different Baud rates until it gets a reply from the meter. Is this correct? I've had a datalogger between the serial port of my PC and the interface circuit, and there is no transmitted data at all. I know the serial port and interface are OK because I used other PC software with the IR LED and IR detector aligned for a simple loop-back test and everything works fine.

Has anybody got one working ?
Does anybody know more about the IEC 1107 protocol?

Best regards and thanks for reading my first post.

I've just come across this posting and have exactly the same problem.
It does look like the code is supposed to put out a challenge to the meter but there is nothing being output to the IR transmitter LED.

Does anyone have an idea on how to proceed please.
I now have a Solar PV system on my roof and would like to read the meter memory to see how much power is actually going back to the grid.

Thanks

Bob

Hi ALL

Try to test the software on a old windows 95 or 98 version.

A lot of software for the RS232 will not work with XP or Windows 7
