I have the March 1997 magazine containing the Eprom programmer circuit, what I don't have is the control software that goes with it.
Does anyone have this software available, it was on the CD-ROM called Electronics Software 96-97 in the subdirectory NL/01 and it is called 'prommer.exe'.
If it is not available to download, does anyone have the CD-ROM that they would be willing to sell?
Thank's, Gareth

Hello Mark,
Thank you for the quick reply to my question.
The circuit diagram you have included is different to the one I have in the March 1997 magazine and the magazine does not give any reference to the author of the software, so it might be correct?
Is this software available to download?
Best regards, Gareth

Hi Gareth, I saw that you was interested in eprom programator from 1997. Did you realised it. I ask you that because few years ago I made hardware, but device never function, software always give mesage no hardware. I check all hardware and it was ok but I suppose that something with bidirectional port was not ok. Please give me you exsperience. Thank you in advance [miroslav.biki@energosoft.com]

@mickey
I realised the hardware, and I actually have it working with one particular EPP parallel port on an ISA card. I have tried many other PCs and many other EPP parallel ports but I never found any other port that worked.
Somewhere I once read (Elektor, as I recall) some guidelines on how to properly initialise an EPP parallel port. I wrote a program to perform this initialisation, but it never made any difference.
There's an alternative version of the schematic, which can be used with a standard SPP. At some point Elektor printed a PCB layout, which was made and submitted by a reader.
Actually, I have no use for the programmer anymore, so if anybody's interested then I'd be happy to sell it.
