As an American and newbie to this magazine, I have a question about terminology. In American electronic mags, there is usually a parts list provided at the end of the article. This does not seem to be the case in Elektor. In the article on "Zapper for Electro therapy" - how do I determine which IC's are being referenced.
Thank you for any help you can give.

Hi,
the component number and the name of chip are indicated within each component for chips and adjecent for other components
only IC2 is indicated at the bottom right side, perhaps as the device is shown split.

I understand that the terminology is different. for example,R7 in this schematic , is called 2k2 while in US , you indicate as 2.2K ohm.
also they symbols are different in many cases.

another relevant issue is a 100 ohm resistor is called many ways, 100R, 100 and 1R5 or 1E5 is more confusing a figure for 1.5 ohms. and certainly 0R01 for 0.01 ohm

likewise capacitors may also be differently named 10n for 0.01uF etc

It causes confusion at the beginning to suddenly get adjusted to IEC conventions.

You might notice in main articles the part list is given in a separate table beside the assembled photos after the schematic diagram.

A friend from Michigan once joked, you are getting forced to European conventions of electronic circuitry,

Otherwise I am sure that you might be enjoying the Magazine.

Regards
