Hi All, many English speaking Profiler users may not know that there is a lot of activity on the Dutch and German Profiler forums (and recently also on the French). Lots of useful messages there, a growing amount of freeware add-on software etc. Not to forget, there is a positive atmosphere. With the help of an online translator e.g. Babelfish: http://babelfish.altavista.com/ much can be translated and the pictures usually speak for themselves. Some messages are in several languages. Unfortunately for me, who don't speak (or read) dutch, french or german and only speak / read english as a second language, the automated translations aren't very helpful. Too much of the information gets lost in translation, or the words used are not translated at all. It would be most helpful, if some of the users from the other forums could translate the most interesting posts into english and post them here. I don't know if it is possible, but it would be most helpful. For example in the german forum, I see posts about "G-code for Profiler", that sounds interesting. What does this program do? What is the requirements? and so on. In the french forum someone seems to have found out more about the firmware in the controller. Does anyone have written a replacement firmware with G-code perhaps? Also, it seems that someone has been able to wire a G-code controller in parallel with the original controller, this is also very interesting. And there is probably more that I have not been able to understand.

Tingo, On the French forum Abiz is describing how he has replaced the original controller with the InterPCNC controller from Soprolec. Together with the Galaad SW this controller is a lot more "competent" in driving the profiler. I have this controller on order and am planning to do this modification too. Controller information for the InterpCNC: http://www.soprolec.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=27&products_id=41 Galaad software: www.galaad.net Description of the modification by abiz http://www.elektor.fr/forum/forum/realisations-publiees-par-elektor/piloter-la-profiler-directement-a-partir-de-galaad.308046.lynkx Note that a few years ago when I bought my machine (CBR80, which is a larger version of the profiler with different SW) from the profiler vendor they were presenting Galaad as a SW alternative. I have tried it at that time with not much luck: The CBR/profiler controller is pretty useless with other than the accompagnying SW. I can do some limited translation... -- /\/\arc

Forgot to mention that this modification makes the profiler gcode compatible... -- /\/\arc

I have installed the AxeMotion PulseMaker board instead of the InterCNC, but I haven't had the time to try it yet. When I get home from work next time, I hope to get the time to test it...
