I have a PCB complete apart from 1 IC. It is marked as EPS 9905. I have long since lost the original magazine which I think may have been in 1980s. Can anybody tell me what this circuit is?

I guess it's no longer any use to me. Is it of interest to any Elektor reader?

This PCB is for a Cassette Interface from Issue 36 - April 1978.

I guess a 1200 baud cassette interface for the old Elektor SC/MP computer may not be of great interest in the world of gigabyte SSD drives, but it might still be of interest to someone looking to get a bit of history working.

Incidentally, the XR2206 signal generator chip used in this design is a quite good signal generator or synthesiser VCO if you want to re-use some of the parts you've got on this board.

Regards

Mike
