The note states : PLEASE NOTE: The Elektor SMD Oven is SOLD OUT. Also the demonstration oven isn't available anymore. A new model is being developed and scheduled for delivery in November 2010. shadders 37 posts Occasional Visitor	28-08-2011 20:10 Hi Elektor, I have seen the specification for the new Reflow oven - the unit looks very impressive. The question i have - what is the mains power lead fuse rating ?. If the 3500W is based on RMS voltage - this would then require 14.58 amp fuse. Therefore, does the unit arrive with specific power lead connection details ?. Thanks and regards, Richard.
Elektor Editor 602 posts Power User	29-08-2011 09:02 The oven has a 16A (time lag) retractable fuse on the IEC appliance socket panel (which also has the on/off rocker switch). Users should provide an approved AC power cable. regards Jan
shadders 37 posts Occasional Visitor	29-08-2011 15:47 Hi Jan, Thanks for the reply. What is the recommended outlet specification to connect the SMT Reflow oven to ? The UK 3 pin mains plug - has a maximum 13amp fuse - so i assume a larger fuse than 16A is required for the IEC cable ? Is there any guidance on the outlet type - i recall that electric ovens in the UK sometimes need a 30amp socket capability - usually wired rather than a plug - from memory - i use gas to cook now. Elektor Editor 602 posts Power User	30-08-2011 09:27 Here at Elektor House the oven was tested on a normal 230V outlet rated at 16A. All other loads on the branch were switched off. The oven is intended for professional use and it is assumed that a suitably rated AC power outlet is available, preferably one that powers the oven only. A 13A fuse as used in UK 3-way mains plugs is probably insufficient so permanent wiring may have to be considered to comply with UK electrical safety regulations. Jan
