Good day, I own a Mazda 3 SP23 (2.3 Liter) top of the line in Australia. I have spoken to Mazda several times and many different persons, all to na avail, they DO NOT want to help us Mazda owners at all. I want to enable the driver information display, all is there and can work if it is enabled in the ecu, it then gives you average mileage, fuel left in tank etc. When I visited in South Africa 2 months ago a techy showed me how to ENABLE the driver info display using their WDS system. (Most models in South Africa has the driver info diplsay ENABLED by default, WHY NOT AUSTRALIAS TOP LINE MODEL ?????!!!) I might add that I do have a copy of the WDS software (Worldwide Diagnostics System) also used by Ford. The WDS runs on Windows 95/98 platform, and uses the EOBD or OBD-2 compliant software trough a DLC-16c connector in the vehicle. (Data Link Connector, 16 Pin). Now, I was wondering if the OBD-2 kit will allow me to change or WRITE to the ECU using the WDS ?
