hi as a thurther update to this since i sent off all the photos of the the unit and proof of purchase back in 12 12 07 i have not heard or been contacted by the customer service dept again why am i not surprised by this after my previous dealings with eleKtor. All i can say is make your own mind up if you want to support an organization who does not care a hoot about its customers even when they have been as understanding as myself concerning their complete disregard for providing good service This just comfirms my actions in no longer buying a flash magazine with no backbone steve payne

Hi Folker, I have tried a friend's Standalone OBDII Analyser on my 2002 VW Golf IV V5. The initial display is Elektor EOBD v1.5. The unit successfully finds protocol 3: ISO9141-2 KB: 0808. The display then reads MIL: OFF DTC: 0. So far, so good! However, when I try to view the Live Data, the unit responds with PID:0D followed by DATA ERROR. The unit works perfectly with my friend's 2007 Ford Focus. I have two questions: Will version v1.6 firmware solve the problem? Will the AGV4500 with a USB port have the same problem with my car? I would like to be able to use VagCom with my laptop. Thanks for your help. Regards, Steve.

Hi Folker, Following my report some time age that I receive the message "cannot connect to ECU" on my 2005, VW Polo, 1.4 petrol. I have now successfully used the OBD-2 analyser on a 2002, 2005 Peugeot 206, a 2006 1.4 Honda Jazz and a 2007, 1.8 Vauxhall Vectra, all petrol engines. Suspecting that my VW might be the problem I checked the OBD-2 connector and found pins 4,5,6,7,14 & 16 wired. Is there a reason for pin 7, TxK being there? or could this be the reason that the reader has never worked. Any suggestion other than disconnect it? EdG

I bought the OBD analyser when it first came out as my wife's 2000 punto elx 1.2 was misfiring. It diagnosed the fault as No 2 coil faulty. I replaced both coils and the ECU (advice from the internet) and cured the fault. The live data worked as did all the funtions. I also tried it on my Subaru Forester 2003 and a friend's Smart Car 2002 with all functions working. It seems I am in a minority, unless it is just people with problems who normally post on forums.

hi I buyed the ODBII code reader to find the error codes on my Chevrolet Suburban 6.5TD 97 modell. My reader has worked fine on reading and deleting codes. its allso work well with live data but when i use it to read live data it sometimes lose the connection to ECU. the reason for this i belive coming from noise in electric system of the car.

hi all looking at the circuit and around the regulators and people having problems with sometimes having intermittant lost data I wondered if adding some extra smoothing capacitors to the circuit might help say a couple of 220 mfd caps one on each +5v and +8v as a lot of crap is on the powerrails of a normal car ic 2 is especially vunerable as its straight off the 12v supply and deals with the comms side of things some more decoupling and added smoothing as above may help here too i could well be wrong but in real world electronics you have to believe in unreal problems and try a soloution not just talk about it noise and glitches can play havock with electronics and maybe thats why it works on some cleaner cars than other with noisy electrics good luck as i cant try mine as its not suitable for my deisel galaxy if this is helpfull let others know if not then at least youve tried something regards steve p
