Mission Statement

 

The Elektor Foundation is founded in 2008 on occasion of the opening of The Elektor House. The Foundation mission is "To generate, on a global scale, free publicity and goodwill for projects and people who have accomplished extraordinary achievements towards technology and electronics".

 

An important activity of The Elektor Foundation is the organization of the yearly Elektor Foundation awards.

The premiere presentation of the awards is on November 21, 2009, during the ELEKTOR LIVE! event in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

 

AWARD 2009

 

The Elektor Award will select individuals and/or organisations (companies, education, communities) who played a special role in the promotion of electronics. There are six categories:

 

Design

Who, what company/community, designed a electronic device, chip, board or application that pushed the developments further?

 

Education and Training

Who, what company/community played a special role in promotion the usage of electronics in the field of education/training?

 

Impact/Awareness

What effort and by who promoted the electronic business?

 

Efficiency

Who, what company/community created a breakthrough in the efficiency in production and usage of electronics?

 

Pioneer/Talent

What person, company, community played a pioneer role in the development of new technologies, especially in the field of electronics?

 

Sustainability

Who, what organisation or community made a difference in environment, security or sustainability in the electronic production or usage?

 

Besides the categories one overall winner is announced.

The Award is an international Award and the readers/public will be asked to introduce candidates. Nomination of candidates can be done via award2009@elektor.com.

Closingdate: 25th of October, 2009

The selection of the candidates and the winners will be performed by the (extended) Elektor editorial team.
